Doctor Michael Coffman grew up in Eugene, Oregon. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology at Oregon State University in 1991 (Go Beavs!). He graduated with honors from Pacific University College of Optometry in Forest Grove in 1995 to receive his Doctorate of Optometry.
He purchased Coffman Vision Clinic (formally Express Optical) in 1998, and immediately began redesigning it into a state-of-the-art optometric practice, focusing on patient education and personal attention to individual needs.
Doctor Coffman is an avid epee fencer at the High Desert Fencing Club, and he is the proud owner of several ribbons from Oregon fencing tournaments. He has also acted in a multitude of theater and musical productions at the local theaters, including Cascades Theatrical Company and 2nd Street Theater.
