Doctor Michael Coffman grew up in Eugene, Oregon. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology at Oregon State University in 1991. He graduated with honors from Pacific University College of Optometry in Forest Grove in 1995 to receive his Doctorate of Optometry.
Dr. Coffman started his career in Corvallis and Eugene, working in both a private practice and in a corporate optical setting. Later, he moved to Silverton where he worked in a practice specializing in vision therapy.
He purchased Express Optical in 1998, and immediately began redesigning it into a state-of-the-art optometric practice. He is interested in visual performance, and likes to educate patients regarding their individual visual needs.
Doctor Coffman enjoys basketball, biking, fencing, acting, and singing. He has done several television commercials in Central Oregon. He performs regularly at Cascades Theatrical Company, and 2nd Street Theater.

Dr. Balsalobre grew up in central North Dakota. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology from Jamestown College in 2000. She then attended Pacific University College of Optometry in Forest Grove Oregon and earned her Doctorate of Optometry in 2004.
Following graduation she completed a primary care and surgical co management residency program at the John Wainwright Memorial VA medical center in Walla Walla Washington and the Pacific Cataract and Laser Institute in Kennewick Washington. Dr. Balsalobre then spent the next six years in private practice in Eugene Oregon. She then accepted a position at Group Health Cooperative in Seattle Washington, but soon learned that she much preferred living in a smaller community which has brought her to Central Oregon.
In her spare time Dr. Balsalobre enjoys running, reading, cooking, and travelling with her husband Marc and their miniature schnauzer Murphy.
